The 2019 AGM weekend takes place 17 – 19 May in Nuneaton, hosted by the George Eliot Fellowship. The Saturday event will be based at Nuneaton Town Hall on Coton Road, Nuneaton CV11 5AA. It is a beautiful building, opened in 1934 and designed in the Georgian style by Peacock and Bewley of Birmingham.
A trip to Astley is planned for the Sunday, including Astley Book Farm (the biggest second hand bookshop in the Midlands). The George Eliot collections at Nuneaton Museum and Art Galler and at Nuneaton Library are also available on the Sunday.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2019
The Annual General Meeting of the Alliance of Literary Societies will be held at the Town Hall, Coton Road, Nuneaton CV11 5AA on Saturday, 18 May, starting at 1.45 p.m.
Please notify the Chair, Linda Curry, of any matters your society wishes to raise including queries about the accounts, so that they can be added to the attached proposed Agenda. Nominations for the Committee of the Alliance must be made to the Secretary (address above) not less than 14 days before the meeting, with the consent of the nominees. All current members of the Committee are willing to stand for re-election. If you wish to stand, or to nominate someone for the Committee, please ensure you/they are able to travel to central Birmingham, where committee meetings are held, twice a year, on Saturdays.
The Minutes of the Annual General Meeting 2018 are available to download below as are the Annual Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet, and a list of the current Committee. We will also be voting on a new constitution.
There is no limit on the number of members from a society that can attend the AGM, but only one can vote; please ensure that the designated voter has been arranged before the AGM. Please notify the Secretary of apologies.
